About Anam

Anam was formed by Orla Bredin and Sarah Hagan in 2021 when they were serendipitously brought together in West Clare, having both lived in Nepal 8 years previous. While living there, Orla & Sarah both studied yoga in depth in its birthplace surrounded by the wisdom and beauty of the Himalayas.

They had a collective vision to combine nature immersion with yoga, as it was originally practiced, encouraging connection with oneself and mother earth. A connection that is integral to the collective healing of the world in its current state.

Orla & Sarah set about facilitating community events to foster a love for the land. These events take place on home soil and further afield in the Himalayas. Together, with their dear Nepali friend Bimal from @Happy Land Treks Nepal, each year they bring a group of curious souls to Nepal to explore yoga in its birthplace amongst the mountains. When at home in the West of Ireland they offer monthly immersive nature and yoga events.

Anam’s primary value is to bring people together to connect them to nature and in turn themselves. It is their belief that everyone should have the opportunity to connect with and foster a relationship with the land.

Sarah Hagan

Sarah is a yoga teacher, chef, & herbalism and yoga therapy student. She has been on a continuous, ever-evolving journey with yoga for the past 11 years. Sarah previously led retreats at the Cliffs of Moher Retreat Centre and is now teaching at Common Knowledge in Co. Clare. She has a deep connection to Nepal and now runs yearly yoga and trekking retreats to the Himalayas. As a biochemistry graduate and current yoga therapy student, Sarah is very interested in the profound healing powers and chemistry-altering effects that breathwork, conscious movement and mindful meditation have on the body, mind and psyche. Her classes are alignment focused, peppered heavily with breathwork, with strong feminine undertones. She weaves elements of softness, surrender and connection into her classes to ensure a nurturing space is created in which students can explore their true potential while heightening their self-awareness.

Orla is a Hatha yoga and breathwork teacher and an environmental social worker who has specialized in trauma-informed yoga through Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY). Orla’s relationship to yoga has been developing and growing over the past 10 years as she continues to study and deepen her spiritual practice.

With roots in social and environmental justice, Orla is interested in ways we can restore a deep connection with ourselves, eachother, and the planet. On an individual level, as a trauma-informed yoga facilitator, Orla is interested in ways that yoga can help repair a lost connection to the body in a safe, deliberate way. Orla aims to offer empowering pratices which are imbued with breathwork and choice based movement encouraging people to have agency over their bodies.

As an environmental social worker, Orla is interested in ways we can restore a connection with ourselves and with the natural world through yoga, meditation, and exploration. Orla believes strongly that by connecting to nature, we can foster deep connection and empathy towards ourselves, the earth, and all living things.
